Mission statement

We consider it our mission to ensure that each of our children is provided with a sound educational foundation, a positive self-esteem, and the experiences needed to attain some integration of the scholastic, religious, moral and human entities needed to continue the learning process. As believers in Gospel values, we hope to reflect God's love, a respect for the uniqueness and dignity of each child and one another, and an appreciation for learning which will inspire a desire for the continued learning process.

Philosophy

We believe that Sacred Heart School offers to the children of the neighborhood community an opportunity to obtain a well-rounded education. In our commitment, we strive to ground our teaching on Christian values based on love and respect. We make efforts to effect the development of the whole child's spiritual and moral development, academic excellence, physical and emotional well-being, social consciousness and the awareness of personal responsibility.

We believe that we are "catholic" in the every sense of the word. As Christians guided by the principles of the Roman Catholic Church, we welcome religious, ethnic and cultural differences and embrace diversity. We make efforts to acknowledge, appreciate and celebrate our student body and faculty.

We believe that it is our responsibility to create for our children an atmosphere conducive to learning and transmission of Christian values, respecting the rights of students and staff. Therefore, we provide for a safe, clean, peaceful and well-ordered environment. A competent, dedicated, nurturing administration, faculty and staff guide and teach our students through a carefully structured curriculum that integrates the message of God's love with the content of subject matter.

We believe that parents/family are the primary teachers and role models for their children. The effectiveness and success of the total child's education depend on the right values, attitudes and nurturing that the child receives at home. Thus, the need for involvement, cooperation and communication between the family and the school staff are essential in the development of the child.

We believe that our goals will be accomplished if our students are motivated to continue learning, to develop their skills and talents, using them wisely. We believe that we will graduate students who achieve up academically and demonstrate a sense of accountability and responsibility. By accepting and living the teachings of Jesus Christ, our students will acknowledge and respect the rights of others and live the message of God's love.
